  1. Hi Georgie,
I was just reading The Student EQ Edge: Emotional Intelligence and Your Academic and Personal Success by Steven J. Stein, Howard E. Book, Korrel Kanoy (Wiley & Sons, 2013)when I came across the following, which I thought might be food for thought:

    'What Is Success?
Let's define it as the ability to set and
    achieve your personal and professional
    goals, whatever they may be...An
    individual's definition of success will
quite naturally ebb and flow over time.'
    (page 6)

I think the second statement is a very interesting point that I perhaps hadn't thought about - how what I want to achieve now is different from what I wanted when I was at school, first out of college, etc.

    1. Thanks sarah I'm gonna have a closer look at that article because that looks very relavent for me.
I think its interesting that it suggests that ones personal opinion of success could change and develop over time. For example, its suggests though i may set out with one goal.. if over time my goal changes, I could still consider myself a success even though i may not have achieved my original goal. Perhaps it depends on circumstance.. or personal standards.... One of the few things that always lingers at the back of my mind is that if my goals do change... i think maybe i'd hold it against myself that i hadnt succeeded in my original goal... but im quite a harsh judge..

  3. Hi georgie I have been looking at your blog and found it really interesting. I found that you have asked a question on success, and relates to the idea of my inquiry question. I feel that success can have a wide range of values to each individual, and we can all be successful if we commit to what we really want to achieve. I just think that there are different steps of success. I would rally appreciate if you would have a little look at my blog. My question is aimed at the acting side of things as this is something i wanted to explore, as I am a dancer myself. What do you think on the question "how to become a successful actress/actor? even if its what you see on tv etc.
would really appreciate any feedback. Btw love your blog. Thanks isla
